McMunn & Yates Building Supplies was founded in 1971 when Terry Yates and brothers Stan and Gordon McMunn opened their first store in Dauphin, Manitoba.

Through a series of partnerships, the company has teamed up with local entrepreneurs to expand McMunn & Yates Building Supplies into nine additional Manitoba communities. The company has been proud to serve the communities and surrounding areas of, Grandview, Roblin, Russell, Brandon, Portage La Prarie, Ste. Rose du Lac, Eriksdale, Thompson and Beausejour. The company also has a retail and contractor focused store in Winnipeg, MB.

While the company has continued to evolve, its commitment to providing knowledgeable and courteous customer service has remained unchanged. Its ability to provide a wide variety of products at everyday competitive prices has also remained unchanged as the company continues its long-standing association with Sodisco-Howden and I.L.D.C., two of the largest buying groups in Canada.
